As we arrive at Volunteer Point, hundreds of King penguins appear. Their black, white and orange plumage blazes like living jewels against the rugged land.
The tiger looks away from us and disappears up the road. A short time later, he runs towards us, his eyes filled with anger and fear.
At sunrise, we take a 45-minute walk around the island. Hundreds of turtle tracks decorate the silky soft sand.
